En la actualidad, más del 80% de la población tiene teléfonos celulares que llevan consigo para todos lados y en todo momento. A pesar de ser súper tecnológicos, prácticos y útiles, los celulares, al igual que la mayoría de los dispositivos electrónicos, tienen la desventaja de ser enemigos del agua. De hecho, cualquier sustancia líquida que ingrese en nuestro teléfono pude dañarlo a tal punto de no poder repararlo nunca más.
Cerca del 30% de los usuarios daña sus teléfonos derramando tragos sobre ellos y, cada año, más de 850.000 celulares se pierden en el fondo del inodoro. Sin embargo, que tu teléfono se haya mojado o haya decidido nadar un rato no significa que no existe forma de repararlo. Con esta simple guía de cosas que debes y no debes hacer tienes muchas posibilidades de salvar tu teléfono.
Lo primero que debes hacer es apagar el teléfono (si es que aún funciona). No intentes prenderlo para ver si funciona, ya que el agua puede generar un corto circuito y dañar partes vitales del aparato. Siempre es mejor secarlo, como se indica en los siguientes pasos, e intentar prenderlo una vez que sea seguro.
Otra de las recomendaciones es no sacudir demasiado el teléfono ya que, si hay agua o líquido en el interior, el movimiento podría hacer que el agua se traslade a las partes que no han sido afectadas. Sé que en estos casos es difícil no entrar en pánico, pero si mantenemos la calma y actuamos de forma racional, tendremos más posibilidades de salvar nuestro teléfono. McDonald's de Alemania ofrece hamburguesas de quinua peruana

Más de 1450 locales en Alemania ofrecen el menú Veggie Clubhouse.
La cadena de comida rápida McDonald's en Alemania viene utilizando la quinua peruana en la elaboración de sus novedosas hamburguesas vegetarianas, denominadas “Veggie Clubhouse”para ofrecerles a sus consumidores la alternativa de un producto saludable y nutritivo, informó este miércoles el Ministerio de Comercio Exterior y Turismo (Mincetur).
La ministra Magali Silva, destacó que el “Veggie Clubhouse” se ha convertido en el primer producto hecho con nuestro grano andino en el restaurante de comida rápida, que cuenta con más de 1450 locales en Alemania y cerca de 1000 millones de visitas al año.
Asimismo, señaló que a través de las Oficinas Comerciales del Perú en el Exterior (OCEX) y Promperú, su Sector desarrolla una intensa y permanente promoción comercial de la quinua para lograr la exportación diversificada del producto con mayor valor agregado.
Las exportaciones de quinua peruana hacia Alemania alcanzan en el primer semestre del 2015 los US$ 3,1 millones, con un crecimiento del 14,1% respecto al mismo periodo del año anterior.
Con el objetivo de dar a conocer su nuevo producto McDonald's de Alemania inició una ambiciosa campaña de marketing, con la que, espera atraer al creciente número de consumidores vegetarianos y de personas que comen poca carne en ese país.
De acuerdo a la Oficina Comercial del Perú en Hamburgo (OCEX Hamburgo), en Alemania viven 7.8 millones de personas que no consumen carne (9.5% de la población de este país), tendencia que va en aumento.
En el video promocional del novedoso alimento, se resaltan las cualidades nutricionales y el origen ancestral de la quinua. Este grano, conocido en Alemania también como arroz inca o andino, es presentada como un “super-food” proveniente de los países andinos y consumida desde la época de los incas.
Así también, se destaca su rico contenido en proteínas vegetales, aminoácidos, minerales y vitaminas. Finalmente se destaca que el año 2013 fue declarado el Año Internacional de la Quinua y que la NASA utiliza este grano andino desde hace más de 20 años para la elaboración de comida para astronautas
From the coast to the jungle there is much to see of Peru. Can you imagine traveling across the nation by foot? That’s what these two adventurers plan to do in September.
There are many people coming to Peru seeking adventure and a serious challenge, but Steve and Megan (Australian and American, respectively) go one step further in their search of adventure: they plan to walk across Peru, from the coast, crossing the Andes into the jungle. Most admirably, they don’t just do it for themselves, but they’re supporting a good cause. To learn more about their crazy plans, we had a chat with Steve and Megan.
Steve and Megan, in September, you’re starting a very impressive and challenging adventure. Could you tell us a bit more about your plans?
The plan is to walk across Peru. But I guess that makes it sound simple. The plan is to start somewhere on the coast, near the city of Chimbote, and then to walk eastward, following a river valley through the desert. We will cross the Cordillera Negra and descend into the Huaraz Valley, then we will go up into the Cordillera Blanca, where we will spend most of the hike. The idea is to combine many of the popular tourist treks through the mountains, along with a few routes of our own devising. We will cross passes of over 4,800 metres in the Cordillera Blanca at least 3 times. It should be incredible! Then we’ll descend on the eastern side, passing Chavin de Huantar, and enter the Amazon Basin, walking all the way to Pucallpa. From Pucallpa its a quick boat ride to Iquitos where we will finish somewhere with soft beds and cold beer!
The route
I’m sure some of our readers might wonder whether you are you doing this just for fun, to challenge yourself or for another reason?
I think it’s a combination of all three really. We had been living and volunteering in the Cusco area this past year and sometime while we were there we came up with the idea to use the walk to raise money for one of the many amazing organisations doing work here in Peru. So the question then was… what cause would we support? We both absolutely love the wide variety of ecosystems and environments that can be found here in Peru, so we wanted to raise money for an organization working to promote conservation in the mountains or the Amazon. In the end, we decided on Pilpintuwasi Butterfly Farm and Animal Orphanage, who works just outside of Iquitos, and we are SO excited to be fundraising and volunteering with them!
How exactly are you raising money? Who is contributing?
We started a GoFundMe page because we are mostly crowdsourcing donations. It has only been going for a short time but we are already receiving support from friends and family. The idea is to get the word to spread and spread and spread. Hopefully anyone who sees the link, and wants to help save animals in the Amazon, will share it, or donate. If enough people see the link and make a small donation (or a big one!) we should reach our goal quickly.
What will the charity do with the raised money?
This is one of the reasons we are so excited to work with Pilpintuwasi! They recently worked withADI (Animal Defenders International) and rescued a large group of animals from a circus. ADIsupported the animals for the first 6 months they were housed at Pilpintuwasi, but those 6 months are coming to an end, and Pilpintuwasi is applying for grants to get more funding, but that will be a while in coming. So all the money we raise will go directly to building shelter for these animals, as well as providing them with food and medical care. And IF there is money left over, it will go towards caring for any of the other animals already at the centre, or paying the wages for the local staff who work at the Animal Centre.

How much are you hoping to raise?
We’ve set the GoFundMe to $3,500 USD, but if we raise more, that just means more love and care for animals in need!
How did you come up with the idea to walk across the Andes to raise money and why this particular charity?
[M] Steve was the first one to mention “I’d like to walk across the Andes”. I guess the inspiration came from living in the Sacred Valley. The mountains there have such a presence, they sing to you all day long such an enchanting song. We were both volunteering while we were there, but decided that once we finished our work there, we’d cross the Andes, but at a length of 4,500 miles top to bottom, the only question was where. Eventually we landed on the Ancash region, because it gives us the opportunity to experience desert, mountains, rural farmland and Jungle all in one incredible walk.
[S] Megan came up with the idea to start on the coast during a bus ride down the Peruvian coast. Driving across that huge expanse of desert was so impressive. It looked so barren and impassable, but occasionally the bus would dip down into these river valleys and suddenly the world would become green and alive again. We decided to see if we could follow a river all the way from the sea, up into the mountains.
As for the choice of charity, we figured if we were going to get attention for tackling such a crazy adventure, we might as well turn that attention towards a worthy cause. There are so many organisations here in Peru doing incredible work, but so many seem to struggle for funds. We decided to find one with four criteria; one that was organised, with a mission that we supported, with a vision for going forward, and passionate staff. Like anyone who gives to charity we wanted to make sure that the money we raised would go directly to the cause, and not just into someone’s pockets.
Pilpintuwasi, the organization we are supporting, was everything we were looking for and more. They’re well established with a very clear mission that they are working towards. A quick Google search will pull up new stories of past successes they have had rescuing animals. They could tell us exactly where the money was going to go. And we will be staying there as volunteers for a month after our walk, so we can show everyone firsthand what their donations have achieved for the people and the animals there.
Have you done anything like this before?
Megan has hiked through the Himalayas in Nepal, though even that cannot compare with the Andes, so the short answer would be “no”. We have both been living in Peru and hiking all the time. We have hiked from Choquequirao to Macchu Picchu and back to Ollantaytambo in June. Otherwise, we’re the same as most outdoor lovers, weekend trips when we can. Maybe this trip will show that everyone has the potential to do something great.
How do you prepare for an extremely challenging trip like this?
I’m not sure you can truly prepare for something like this, but we have spent many weeks hiking and camping at high elevation, and in doing so have worked through what equipment works, what doesn’t, what our physical limits are, and just how long we can last eating instant noodles and Sublime chocolates.
Which part of the trip are you particularly looking forward to? Were there places that you definitely wanted to include on your hike?
[M] For me, it is hard to say which part I am most looking forward to. The desert will hopefully be very different from anything I have ever experienced, so I am looking forward to that. And of course, the Cordillera Blanca outside of Huaraz. I cannot wait to spend whole days camping next to turquoise lakes overlooking pristine mountain wilderness. Mostly, I am looking forward to the tranquility and to the peace of mind that comes from walking through nature for days on end.
[S] The Huascarán National Park will be a real highlight for me. Having lived and worked in rural Australia for many years this landscape is still so foreign and stunning in my eyes.
I’m sure that there are also some aspects of this adventure that you are not looking forward to or that even worry or frighten you?
[M] I am worried about some of the logistics. We have planned to buy a donkey to help us carry some of our supplies. Now that we are approaching the time to go out and buy the donkey, I am not so sure how to do it. And once we have the donkey, am I sure I can care for it? I have a year of experience working with horses when I was a teenager so I am hoping that will carry over, but it is still nerve-wrecking to be responsible for another life.
[S] Leaving Lima’s food scene will be tough, living on instant noodles and bread loses its appeal after 30 days!

Por séptimo año consecutivo, el Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez fue elegido como el "Mejor Aeropuerto de Sudamérica 2015" en los premios World Airport Awards, celebrados en la ciudad de París, Francia.
Un factor determinante para la obtención del galardón fue el alto nivel de satisfacción obtenido en la evaluación realizada del terminal aéreo ubicado en el Callao.
Así, durante el 2014 se obtuvo un puntaje del 95% respecto a la satisfacción de los pasajeros y usuarios, y se logró superar la meta establecida en relación a los concesionarios y las aerolíneas.
Los World Airport Awards son los premios más prestigiosos de la industria aeroportuaria, en la que los clientes votan a través de una encuesta anual de satisfacción.
Asimismo, se basan en 13’020,000 nominaciones hechas por pasajeros y usuarios de 112 nacionalidades, incluyendo a 550 aeropuertos de todo el mundo.
“Nos sentimos muy contentos y orgullosos de haber ganado este premio por séptima vez.Durante el 2014 hemos registrado niveles importantes en la satisfacción de nuestros pasajeros y usuarios, lo cual demuestra nuestro esfuerzo de cada año por brindar un servicio de calidad en todas las operaciones que brindamos", afirmó Sabine Trenk, gerente central de Operaciones y Comercial de Lima Airport Partners.
Por su parte, Edward Plaisted, CEO de Skytrax Research, consultora encargada de realizar el estudio de mercado de los aeropuertos, agregó que el premio obtenido por el Jorge Chávez también se debió a que la calificación global permitió situarlo en el puesto Nº 35 mundialmente (frente al 37, obtenido en el 2014).
Añadió que nuestro terminal aéreo también se sitúa como el sexto mejor aeropuerto del mundo en la categoría de 10 a 20 millones de pasajeros

Londres. La Universidad de Sao Paulo en Brasil y la Universidad Autónoma de México están entre las cien universidades más prestigiosas del mundo, según la clasificación difundida por el periódico británico "The Times Higher Education".
"The Times Higher Education", la publicación sobre educación más prestigiosa del Reino Unido, divulgó su listado anual, en el queHarvard, de Estados Unidos, y las universidades inglesas deCambridge y Oxford ocupan las tres primeras posiciones.
Los diez primeros puestos de la clasificación los copan universidades de Estados Unidos, con ocho centros académicos, y del Reino Unido, con los dos mencionados.
La Universidad brasileña de Sao Paulo está situada entre los puestos 51 y 60 de la clasificación, donde comparte puntuación con otros centros, mientras que la Universidad Autónoma de México, entró entre las cien primeras este año y es la única de habla hispana, está entre los lugares 71 y 80.
De la cien universidades valoradas, el país con mayor número de instituciones en posiciones de prestigio es Estados Unidos, con 42 centros académicos entre los 100 primeros, seguido por Reino Unido con 12 y Alemania con 6.
El director de "The Times Higher Education", Phil Baty, reconoció que esta clasificación es "subjetiva", pero subrayó que está avalada por la opinión de numerosos expertos de todo el mundo que "saben más sobre excelencia en enseñanza e investigación".
"Su opinión es muy importante para elaborar una clasificación de este calibre", agregó Baty.
La clasificación publicada fue elaborada con los datos de 10.507 respuestas de académicos y profesores con un bagaje de al menos 15 años de trabajo en la educación superior.
La revista "The Times Higher Education" publica desde hace años este ránking junto a otro -en fechas distintas- que agrupa a las mejores 400 universidades.

Testigo de su tiempo: Tradicional Bar Restaurante Cordano cumple 110 años

Ubicado en el centro de Lima, El Cordano ha tenido entre sus comensales a personajes célebres entre los que se cuentan jefes de Estado, pintores, cantantes y compositores, entre otros.
Apuntes sobre uno de los bares más tradicionales de Lima, cuyas instalaciones han acogido a variopintos personajes en sus 110 años de existencia.
1) Inicialmente El Cordano fue un bazar fundado por los genoveses Vigilio Botano y los hermanos Luis y Antonio Cordano. A solo seis meses de su apertura, un 13 de enero de 1905,se decidió que funcionara también como salón-restaurante.
2) Está ubicado frente a la ex estación de ferrocarril Desamparados y al costado de palacio de Gobierno,
3) Tene un área de 280 m2 dividido en tres salones, con capacidad de 150 personas. Es una casona de paredes de adobe y deslucidos pisos de granito desgastados por el tiempo. Mantiene sus mismas sillas, puertas y hasta la cantidad de comida
4) En el año 1978 los descendientes de la familia Cordano deciden dejar el negocio en manos de sus trabajadores, como pago por el tiempo de servicio.
5) En sus 110 años de funcionamiento, El Cordano ha sido visitado por diferentes jefes de Estado, algunos de los cuales (como Alan García) fueron asiduuos comensales; así como también otras personalidades del mundo político, cultural y social de Lima.
6) Entre sus platos emblemáticos están los riñoncitos al vino, sesos a la romana,, tacu tacu con bisteck apanado, choritos a la chalaca; y entre sus bebidas, el chilcano de pisco.
7) Fue declarado Patrimonio Cultural de la Nación por R.J. No. 009-1989-INC/J el 26 de Abril de 1989
8) Aparte de los jefes de Estado, visitantes asiduos al Cordano fueron Martín Adán, Chabuca Granda, Víctor Humareda y hasta (según una leyenda urbana) el Che Guevara.
